Online Student Grievance Process
Students taking online or distance education courses at White Earth Tribal & Community College follow the same Student Grievance Process as students attending classes on campus.
If you have a concern, begin by working through WETCC’s internal grievance process. If the concern cannot be resolved informally, you may submit a formal grievance through WETCC’s Student Grievance Form.
When does NC-SARA apply?
The National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements, or NC-SARA, provides a complaint process for certain students taking interstate distance education courses.
This process applies to complaints related to WETCC distance education activities offered under SARA to students located in another SARA member state. SARA complaints must first go through WETCC’s institutional complaint process before they can be escalated to the college’s home-state SARA portal entity.
SARA does not handle every type of student concern. Grade disputes and student conduct matters continue to follow WETCC’s own policies and procedures.
Step 1
Complete WETCC’s grievance process
Start with the WETCC office or department closest to your concern and follow the college’s Student Grievance Process.
If the issue cannot be resolved informally, submit a formal grievance through WETCC.
Step 2
If the SARA-related complaint remains unresolved

The Minnesota Office of Higher Education also advises students to bring concerns to their institution first and, for serious concerns, complete the institution’s formal grievance process before filing with the state.
